CTWC DAS 2025: The Arrival of New International Challengers

CTWC DAS is entering its fourth year, proving that the DAS playstyle is more alive than ever. CTWC DAS 2024 was a huge success — the first Tetris® tournament of this scale to feature a double-elimination bracket. Combined with a variety of fun side activities, it was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. For 2025, we are sticking to this winning formula while adding exciting new surprises! On top of that, with the top 4 competitors from the Jonas Cup 2024 (Fractal, Blue Scuti, Pixelandy, and meme) joining the tournament, CTWC DAS 2025 will reach an entirely new level of competition.

History of CTWC DAS

History of CTWC DAS

For almost 30 years, DAS was the predominant playstyle for NES Tetris®. DAS stands for Delayed Auto Shift and describes the behavior of most falling block puzzle games when the player holds down the left or right key: the game shifts the falling piece sideways, pauses, and then continues to shift it repeatedly as long as the key is held.

Classic Tetris legend Jonas Neubauer (†) won 7 World Championships by playing DAS. However, since 2019 more playstyles such as Hypertapping and Rolling have emerged, dominating the scene. This shift has left many DAS players feeling sidelined and longing for fair competition. As an answer to that situation, we host the Classic Tetris® World Championship (CTWC) DAS , an event that highlights the unique and exciting aspects of DAS playstyle.

CTWC DAS 2025 will be the most exciting edition yet!

Building on the huge success of CTWC DAS 2024, we're taking things to the next level with even more thrilling competition and exciting surprises. With the arrival of four of the world's best DAS players — Fractal, Blue Scuti, Pixelandy and meme, CTWC DAS 2025 is set to be the most intense and competitive edition yet, featuring some of the most electrifying matches the DAS community has ever witnessed!

CTWC DAS 2024 was the perfect blend of a highly professional tournament and an unforgettable experience for players and visitors alike. It not only featured a thrilling double-elimination bracket but also offered a variety of exciting side activities, making it a truly special event!
